Why We Operate as a Closed Rabbitry (and What That Means for You)

At our rabbitry, transparency and trust are extremely important to us—but so are safety, health, and the well-being of our animals and families.

What is a “closed rabbitry”?

A closed rabbitry simply means that we do not allow in-person visits inside our home or rabbit housing areas.

This decision is intentional—and it’s made with both our rabbits and our families in mind.

Why we choose to stay closed

There are two main reasons:

1. Protecting our rabbits’ health

Rabbits are incredibly sensitive animals. When you have a herd—especially one inside your home—there is always a risk of introducing:

- mites

- parasites

- respiratory illness

- bacteria carried on clothing, shoes, or hands

Even well-meaning visitors who own rabbits (or have been around animals) can unknowingly bring something in.

Our rabbits are pets first and foremost, not just breeders.

Protecting their health is non-negotiable.

2. Protecting our family and home

Our rabbits are raised in our homes—where our children live, sleep, and grow.

For the safety and privacy of our family, we do not allow unknown individuals into our personal living space.

What transparency looks like here

Being a closed rabbitry does not mean being secretive.

We are extremely open with our buyers and provide:

- Photos and videos of your specific bunny

- Updates on their personality and development

- A look into their living environment

- Honest communication about care, diet, and health

We want you to feel fully confident in where your bunny is coming from.

Our locations

We are a sister-run rabbitry with two locations:

- Hamden

- New Britain

Depending on the litter, pickup location will vary based on which of us is raising that specific litter.

We will always clearly communicate pickup details ahead of time so everything is smooth and convenient.
